literally 0 major critiques, and a book that I would recommend, only a 3 star bc there’s nothing necessarily that resonated with me personally in a big way (which is completely fine)

my first time being genuinely confused about the romance while reading a romance book. why was she so torn between these guys? matter of fact, did she even like any of them? because she sure didn’t act like it.

Im so conflicted on how to feel about this. Let me tell you something. I LOVED reading this story. Evie was hilarious, and the chemistry that she shared with Shepard was just exquisitely done. Baby Clue was adorable, the premise was getting handled beautifully, I was still engaged in mystery.. then the ending.

It was a beautiful idea, but in execution, I feel like I needed more time to adjust to the actual reality behind what the ending meant for Evie and Shepard. Plus, I feel like it maybe deserved a bit more nuance?

I don’t know. I’m so conflicted.

I enjoyed this book way too much to give it a 3 star, but this slight disappointment is making me hesitate on the 4. Maybe it’s not as bad as it is, and if so, my rating will stay at 4 stars. But wow, a great book. I will definitely be looking out for this author
