Sigh. I wanted so much from this book, but reading it was a chore. I found it really boring, and if I had to write a synopsis... I wouldn't know where to begin. It felt like vignettes of short stories squished together without much cohesiveness. I lost interest very early on and was never able to recover it. I was determined to finish it though. So. I did.

This comic is adorable! Lunella is fiesty and clever but naive and immature. She isn't portrayed as miraculously perfect hero; she is first and foremost a CHILD... albeit an extraordinary one. I look forward to including this in my classroom bookshelf next fall and sharing Moongirl with my students. Also, dinosaurs! ♡♡♡ My only criticism is the really awkward portrayal of Hulk as being a narcissist teenage bro-type. He was chipper overall and at one point hr kissed his biceps...?! It felt very incongruous with the angry "Hulk smash" I've always known and loved. 4/5 and I might invest in more of this series down the line.

I always find a poem in here that knocks me off my feet and makes me reconsider my situation.
