I'll say this, by far this has been my favorite book by Ana Huang. I loved the characters. I loved the relationship. It was just too long, for me. I really enjoyed this one.

I'll start this review saying that I really thought 'Taste like Shakkar' was going to be my favorite book in this series and there was no way to top it, but this one did. Oh my god, this book was just the best!!!!! All my theories of this book were wrong, and I loved every second of being wrong.

THE RELATIONSHIP IN THIS HAD ME SCREAMING! Like I love that even thought it took Deepak a long time that what he felt for Veera was more than friendship, He made up for it every time in this book. I love the space he made for her in this book, to the point that by the third act I was freaking out of how it was all going to play out.

I'm going to say I really loved the way this book handled the changed when it comes to friendships. Like Veera talking about how she felt left behind now that her friends are in serious relationship or married, the abandonment she felt from her friends and seeing that even though their priorities have shifted the friendship is still there.

The sister bond in this had me crying, too. I wanted to punch Sana so much!!!!! The father/daughter relationship in this made me think of my dad a lot and how my sisters and I have to navigate with him.

Overall, I think this by far will be the best book I've read in 2024. I think it will be tough to match the way this made me feel. How special it was to finish this characters this way. I feel lucky to have this arc and I can't wait to read more book by Nisha.

I got an e-arc of this book on NetGalley.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I will not hold back when it comes to this review cause I know I complain about long ass book, and this was less than 400 pages... it just packed in too many conflicts in just 4oo pages while at the same time trying to give me a second chance romance.

I got so lost sometimes, because the other conflicts did come between the relationship. This small town is mad at her cause she said a few curse words when she had a bloody accident with pain all over her face/hair. Like you have to be kidding me!!!!

I am trying to make this as spoiler free as I can, but it's hard. Like between her grief, his grief, his sister addiction, her hatred of her dad, trying to save the town, filming a show that can make or break her career, he has a very important presentation to make for his job... It was just too much sometimes!!!!!!!!

I got an e-arc of this book on NetGalley.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Compared to the other ones in the series, I felt this one had a little bit less romance. I don't know, I just didn't vibe with it as much as I did the other two.

I'll say this, this book didn't hit a lot of the times for me. There were a lot of aspects of this book that just made me uncomfortable, I think it was mostly the fact that she didn't tell anyone that she was from a parallel world, and just continued on as norm. Especially when it came to the "love of her life".

Like I just didn't like the vibe of this book. I did finish it. It was okay, not for me.

This book was beautiful. Even thought this book touched on a lot of my fears of what if. What can happen? Will I have to leave my island behind at some point? I really don't want to.

You know, I think it was a great read. I have so much feelings and I sometimes can't put them into words when it comes to Puerto Rico, especially in English.

I'll tell you I was so excited when I got approved for this arc. I had just finished the first book and I couldn't wait to continue it. Now I'm frustrated that I can't talk to anybody about it and that I have to wait even more for the next one.

This story honestly keeps getting more and more interesting. I like the cultural elements. I love the way the story uses magical elements. I love the crazy things Donají and Itzcacalotl get into. I have my theories of Doniji's dad and his role in this situation. I can't wait to read more.

Really give this a chance.
