Beach Read by Emily Henry
um ok so this was literally the PERFECT thing I needed. devoured this in two days and was just absolutely giddy while reading about January and Gus's relationship. Loved that they spend most of the books as friends with a promise of something more and I honestly just wish I could go back and read this again for the first time because it was SO GOOD
Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers
loved this <3 beautiful, contemplative, and very very healing for anyone feeling like there's just too much closing in on them
Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, & Advice for Living Your Best Life by Ali Wong
AHH that was so good!! Could not stop pee-in-my-pants laughing during this one! Loved how she held nothing back and really examines her relationship with her sexuality, motherhood, and being Asian American. Highly recommend the audiobook if you're planning to pick this up because Ali Wong narrates it herself. Also that afterword from her husband? the cutest thing
Anxious People by Fredrik Backman
another beautiful read. this one had so many quotes I wanted to write down and some really endearing characters. Zara was definitely my favourite but the others were also equally fantastic. I also loved the underlying themes of the housing market and class and loved the way Fredrik Backman used mostly dialogue throughout this book. overall a wonderful read, especially if you're feeling a little alone
Aru Shah and the Song of Death by Roshani Chokshi
The amount of love I have for the entire concept of this series ❤️ loved getting to see more characters from the epics in this one and the overall hilarity and awesomeness of these characters! I've said it before and I'll say it again, representation means so so much
Zara Hossain Is Here by Sabina Khan
ahh this was so great! a really quick read with some great characters and a deep look at the U.S. immigration system. I loved how this book had a lot of similarities to Sabina Khan's THE LOVE AND LIES OF RUKHSANA ALI but also portrayed a totally different family dynamic and situation. I love that this will be a book that a lot of immigrant kids can read and feel seen <3
Counting Down with You by Tashie Bhuiyan
this was super cute and definitely one that a lot of teens will enjoy! Absolutely LOVED Dadu as she was the true MVP ♥️ I also really appreciated the anxiety rep and seeing how Karina dealt with it on the daily. Karina's situation at home & her conservative parents is one I know all too well being a south asian kid and growing up with other south asian kids, but I really wish we dove even more into it in this book—regardless though I think a lot of people will resonate with this rep
