I’m still reeling in the after effects of reading this fabulous book. It was so haunting and beautiful and atmospheric. I was quite literally terrified at times and had chills running down my spine the other.
This is a story about loneliness and finding a place where you belong, even though it means to loose yourself because of that.
Hill House though a story about a haunted tale is as much a story about ‘home’ and any house as it is about Hill House. It’s about finding home when you feel like you’ve never had one, and the advantage a house can take of that fact.
A definite 4.5 star read, this is a timeless classics.

it’s honestly a fact at this point that V. E. Schwab out does herself with every new release and this was definitely true for Gallant. this book had consumed me body mind and soul. her magic on paper translates so well to the magic of reading her words.
Gallant is such a a hauntingly atmospheric book. there were certain points were I had literal chills reading it and i also found myself holding my breath awaiting something thrilling.
the fact that our main character Olivia does not have a voice and her cousin Matthew cannot read her words form an intriguing communication barrier between the two residents of Gallant that Schwab has masterfully executed.
i loved reading this and V. E. Schwab isn’t my favourite author for nothing hahaha
a definite 5 stars
