This managed to be too long and too short. The rescue was way too short and wrapped up in a bow while the romance was so drawn and dragged out. I was lectured rather than included in the story.

Surprisingly funny at times. A bit slow of a start, then the world building and characters were awesome. Steampunk AU of Cairo, lots of discussion on war and violence, colonialism, sexism.

Really enjoyed this!

this is insta love. everything else no longer can be called it! the alpha scents his mate, and goes home to make space in his closet. that's commitment if i've ever seen it.

this is very cute, domestic, and fluffy shifter mpreg. a very stubborn bear and a very sweet and loving omega. some babies, big family vibes, t'was cute, if not a little over the top at times. also YES to the knotting.

Adored this book. Such a great coming of age, with a trans hero who is trying to prove his worth in the family. I loved the found family aspect, as well as Julian!!!

Actually cried during this one, which is saying something.

Loved Ethiopia and the discussions on expats and colonizers. The food was fantastic and they listened to audiobooks (Dante and Aristotle discover the universe, swoon.) Maybe would have like a bit more relationship exploration that having one lead with a foot out the door and making up excuses.

Miscommunication is not really my trope so it could be a me thing.

Acab. I appreciated how there's a HEA for the leads but not for the racism happening in the US. Big tw for racist cop and getting pulled over in a car while black.

Novellas are hard to get into. Second chance, some cheating, magical dick.
