Milk Morinaga is an artist I've followed since I was very young, and both her writing and art style are easily recognizable. Typically feminine girls, slender bodies, and the stories almost always revolve around a romance with some form of miscommunication popping up throughout the plot.

This story follows two girls who have been room mates since their time at college/university. One works as a beautician specializing in nail art, who is harboring romantic feelings for her room mate. The other a college drop out who primarily works as a writing freelancer with an online shopping addiction played for comedic effect. One day the beautician comes home and finds her room mate has brought home a stray newborn kitten into their apartment. It becomes quickly known that the apartment complex they live in does not allow pets of any kind, and for now the two take care of the helpless animal. As the two take care of Chibi the kitten, a slew of miscommunication occurs that cause the two to realize their feelings for one another and begin a new chapter in their lives together.

Moving into a new apartment that allows pets, together as a couple, with their new cat.

The story proceeds from there with new conflict and drama revolving around their new budding relationship. The couple attempt to navigate how they want to continue with their lives together both romantically and with their careers, while slowly filling up their new home like a newly wed couple.

Milk Morinaga's style is very cute, but also does not shy away from the more sexual aspects of a lesbian relationship, albeit in a filter very reminiscent of the early 2000's anime style. Or at least a version of that style.

As much as I enjoy her work, I do think compared to her other stories their relationship moved faster than I would have appreciated. But at the same time, this is a romantic slice of life style narrative that is more of a fun escape than a deep story to pick apart and debate over.

If you enjoy cute girls u-hauling their relationship together with their cat, then you will like this manga.
