Ian Reid’s book Foe still haunts me.  This one was more “complicated” and the suggestion is to read it again backwards.   Maybe I will.  
Maybe I won’t.   Maybe it’s just too complicated for me. 🤪

Tried to get to four stars for me but just couldn’t 
It was “too much muchness” and so long and way too many coincidental happenings.  Everyone could get a job at “that” particular prison???   Sammy was my favorite character 

And the short chapters?  Why?

Did not finish book. Stopped at 75%.

It’s always the same reason for me.  I just didn’t care.   And I hated to give up on this one.   I wanted to love it.

Too many characters.   Paragraphs were too long.  Too much description and I didn’t care about any of it

I didn’t hate this book - I think the description was misleading.   It wasn’t a thriller but more of a character study with a true crime element thrown in for good measure.  Really surprised this was a Reece pick.  The writing was decent, very visual but there were no big moments, rather an unwinding of three girls experiences the summer after graduation changed everything.
