Remi has cared for her younger brother all her life. With a fresh start moving to Grimstone and renovating her uncles house, she hopes to finally land on her feet and be at peace.

But there’s something sinister that’s happening in the sleepy little town and she’s starting to think that her life is cursed.

It could be the town itself and the things that go bump in the night. Or it could be her strange new neighbour, the doctor that lives in the woods who everyone is terrified of.

I haven’t read any Sophie Lark before so this was my first novel by her. Whilst I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it either.

I struggled with the layout of the story and to get to grips with the characters, imagining them up shall we say?

The story in itself was okay, a perfect little gothic read with plenty of spooky vibes, the brother was an absolute arse, Remi and Dane had a strange chemistry that strangely worked.

The gothic aesthetics of the book were rich and the ending was 😳 I’ll certainly read more by the author, but not straight away. That being said, I did enjoy the book though and the playlist was 👌🏼
