ANOTHER BOOK THAT BROUGHT ME SO MUCH JOY. This couple and the companions we met along the way will live rent-free in my head for the rest of time. The lil fluff balls and the lil Pegasus-like animals stole my heart as much as Chloe and Nitiel.

Chloe. I loved Chloe and her energy. She made the best of every opportunity that was given to her, and it seems around Nitiel she always has a smile on her face. I love that while she was falling in love, she remained independent and her dreams did not change completely, they just shifted to include Nitiel.

Nitiel. He is everything you could want in a man. Cinnamon roll, protective, and ready to bone at any time. I wish I got more of his history. I desperately need a short/novella about his parents! Gimme, gimme more!

This book was an absolute delight, and a perfect read for me right now. I have been fighting a reading slump for the last month, and this book was perfect. It had the right balance of making me feel things but also forget my world for a little bit.

I love the relationship between Maris and Alex. Everything happened very quickly, and I loved every second of it. I went in forgetting there was the fated mates trope, and was pleasantly surprised. It is one of my favourites. I love how when it was brought up, the discussion of consent and the importance of choosing who you're with occured. Autonomy is important and sometimes forgotten. I also adored the focus on both Maris and Alex having/making other friends.

ALSO!!!! OH GOSH OH BOY. When the spice hits, it *hits*.

Also also love me a fem kraken. Please everyone write more, thank you!

I really enjoyed this book!! The audiobook made it 100% better in my opinion. The narrator sounded so dreamy, so in love, I could not help fall in love with the story.

I love the characters and how much they grew to love, care, support each other.

I would reccomend this book to anyone who is interested.

Only thing that takes this away from being a 5 star is ...

I got a slight ick from the human compound. These humans are near extinction, these women are more vulnerable than ever before... and I am not sure that was addressed. I really hated when the friend said the monsters just wanted to have sex with them because theyre so small.... I tried to ignore that part, hoping they would call it out. But that never happened.
