A haunting look into the destruction caused by pesticides and other untested chemicals were unleashed on ecosystems without care and how it threatened all life. This phenomenal paradigm-shifting book of the early 1960s shaped the future of conservation. We can only hope that a modern equivalent is given the same spotlight in society with the impeding global climate catastrophe.

The parts about historical extinctions were good and I completely understood the overall arch of the book, but it felt more like a bougie travel log for a good majority of the book and wasn't quite what I was looking for in terms of the current ongoing extinction event.
