I have been ferally anticipating this read, because let’s be real—Mephistopheles has been my problematic fave since book one. And bébés, Ascher delivered. Not just delivered so much as kicked down the door with spice, snark, and a chaos-gremlin level of heart that left me cackling and clutching my chest in equal measure.
Meph and Iris brought absolute menace energy. 🥹 Him, a demon who literally snacks on fear like it’s popcorn at the movies. Her, a witch so snarky she could probably hex you with her sarcasm alone. And together they delivered banter so sharp it could cut glass, plus chemistry hot enough to make hell look like an icebox.
Don’t get me wrong— this book was hilarious and filthy in all the ways I love, but it also went deeper. Fear, trust, belonging, self acceptance/forgiveness, fear of vulnerability, dealing with grief, and mental health rep… all those messy little themes lurking under the surface like monsters under your bed. And I was here for every unhinged, spicy, heart-grabbing second.
Ascher just has a way of making this whole band of weirdos feel like family— you laugh with them, cry with them, and maybe even want to brave attempting to draw a hellgate and summon them (if only for the free cocktails and bare witness to the hilarious chaos first hand).
If you’re craving a dark romcom that’s equal parts laugh-til-you-snort, swoon-til-you-sob, and fan-yourself-til-you-overheat, you will definitely love this book and series.
Thank you too Aurora, Kensington, Hambright PR, and NetGalley for a copy of this e-book. I have loved this journey through the series and yes have already pre-ordered the next two books 😅

Grim had me by the throat (to check my pulse ofc) from page one— and I didn’t even fight it. This was my first dive into DJ Krimmer & Joe Arden’s twisted little cathedral of words, and babes, I walked out floored, feral, and already kneeling at the tombstone.
You know I’m weak for gothic dark fantasy that drips with atmosphere, laces in an epic love story, and then decides to seduce me with prose so lyrical it basically sorcery. That’s exactly what this book did. The storytelling is uniquely layered, with a magic system that is hauntingly clever and themes heavy with meaning but dressed in velvet humor. And as promised by these authors, the side characters are definitely giving main character energy. They create a nest within your heart and make a home there, truly memorable. 🧡
The vibes: Imagine RIPD crashing into Dead Like Me, but make it a fever-dream gothic love story pulsing with heat, shadow, and the occasional knife-sharp laugh. The gothically cinematic atmosphere wielded imagery vivid enough to burn itself into my skull. Let’s not over look the romance—dear God—the romance! It was a slow-burn that scorched, a tension you could cut with the Big D’s own scythe. Add in spice that was visceral and deliciously unholy, and you’ve got a book that doesn’t tempt you… it devours you.
This isn’t a story— it’s the start of a whole damn series I want to binge like a cursed box set. Unfortunately, for all of us it is a standalone. Although I am praying for some kind of spinoff that tells us more about Asher and big D’s stories, as well as the sisters 👉👈
Perfect for fall, perfect for spooky season, perfect for those of us who like our love stories tangled with shadow and sharpened with teeth… and/or scythes 😌
And yes… I’ve officially unlocked new auto-buy authors. Pray for my wallet. 🫠

Mist owns me.
That’s it, that’s the review. This little chaos demon stomped his way straight into my heart, set up camp, and and there he shall remain, rent free. He carried this whole damn book on his cute, feral ginormous shoulders and I adored every second.
And yes, I loved this one more than book one. Maybe it’s the snarky, self-deprecating witchy FMC (my kind of feral queen) or maybe it’s because Mist is just that stinking adorable while also being an absolute menace. 🥹😂 Either way, I was hooked.
This installment cranked up the spice, the laughs, and the monster-romance goodness. If you like your romcoms with claws, fangs, and a side of chaos magic, this one is basically an 8 course meal. 👏
And can we talk about Meph? Because I’ve been low-key obsessed since book one, and now that I know he and Iris are next? I’m stomping my little feeties! The scene where Jacqui breaks free to save him had me watery eyed while also fanning myself. It’s fine, I’m fine. 🙄
I’m officially addicted to this demon-infested universe, and I’m not leaving any time soon. Bring on the chaos. Bring on the spice. Bring on the next book.

My Funny Demon Valentine is is pure adorable chaos. It was such a fun ride: fast-paced, high stakes, and packed with characters I wanted to adopt, date, or maybe both.
What really sold me was the humor. The author nailed that perfect balance of witty banter and laugh-out-loud moments while still giving us demons, angels, and enough tension to keep the pages turning. With characters that are fresh, original, and impossible not to love.
Normally, I’m not a third-person narration girlie, but it worked here. We got all the juicy insight into each character’s head without drowning in POV overload. Crisp, clean, and effective, while providing us with unlimited perspective.
Your girl is already itching for more. I can’t wait to dive back in and see how each demon’s story unravels—because if this first book is any indication, the rest of the series is going to be a wickedly good time.

4.5⭐️
Besties, this book had me feral—like rip-your-hair-out, throw-the-Kindle feral— WHILE simultaneously fighting the very real urge to feel for a man who should be locked up in chains and left tf alone.
First, flowers all around to Blue Nose Audio for their flawless, cinematic production (per usual). As well as the narrators: Andi Eloise Corvin King, Bryant Walker, and James Cassidy, who gave performances that left no crumbs.
Now, let’s talk about HIM. This man is unhinged. Like a walking red flag dipped in gasoline. And yet…I caught myself nodding along to his chaos like, “wait, am I rooting for this?” Someone call my therapist, because this was not on my bingo card.
The spice? Delicious. The action? Relentless. The twist? Could’ve been hidden a touch deeper, but I still ate it up like the messy dark-romance addict I am. 😌
So if you love your romance twisted, your men deranged, and your heart rate unsteady, grab this book. And brace yourself for when Compel drops— I already know it’s going to probably leave me with bald spots 😂🫶
thank you to Candace Wright, and blue nose audio for gifting me a copy of this audiobook to devour in one sitting. All unhinged thoughts and opinions are my own and given freely.

Psycho is straight chaos and I DEVOURED every second of it.
First time reading this Chelle Rose and I’m already a problem. I don’t even care— I’m diving into the first three books like the unhinged addict I now am. Consider me (deleriously) claimed.
Let’s talk about the audiobook... Blair Thatcher and Sean Masters? Filthy good. Their duet narration was smooth, raw, and had me bound and gagged like I stole from them. Add in Blue Nose Audio’s cinematic production: crisp, polished, and dangerous— and it was mafia perfection in my ears.
Now the FMC: finally an author who gives us a heroine who feels real in this world. She’s sharp, layered, and completely worth rooting for. The MMC? A broody, emotionally constipated bastard who doesn’t want to admit he’s capable of love. His “oh shit, I have feelings” moments had me giggling in the middle of murder plots, and honestly, I adored it.
And the barbecue scene… holy hell. That was revenge served scorching hot. I was cheering like the unhinged little goblin I now am, knee-slapping and cackling because it was that damn satisfying.
This isn’t pitch-black, but it sits deep in the shadows. The themes are heavy, the content is dark, and the trigger warnings matter. But if you can handle it, this book delivers exactly what you came here for: blood, betrayal, revenge, and heat that melts.
I’m devouring the rest of this series without hesitation. Dark, twisted, savage, and just the right amount of unhinged. This author has me hooked and I’m not letting go.
Thank you so much to Chelle Rose and Blue Nose Audio for a copy of this audiobook, which allowed me to devour this novel and share my thoughts and opinions.

“Be a good little pet and lay back. Let me take care of you.” - Greysen
“It will become your normal. Are you afraid to take it?” - Greysen

“ I would burn the world down with everything I loved, in it if it meant she would survive to stand in the ashes with me.” - Greysen
I AM GAGGED 😍 🥵 and loving it honestly 😌
This was my first book that I didn’t even bother to read the blurb on. And this is the first book I will ever recommend to not bother reading the blurb on.
In Blackwell’s debut novel Fnding Her book one of the Lore of Fields series, she leads you down a thriller, mystery, sci-fi jampacked with spice, romance, and both cozy and cold ethereal worlds. All genres that don’t seem like they come together, but this book is a master class on how to not just efficiently blend this unlikely combination, but to do it with utter and irrefutable expertise.
As you know, I love to talk about what each book gives. This novel is giving in spades. We get monster romance between a Pyron and a human (?). A lovely cozy getaway to an ethereal island whose imagery is laid out so beautifully you can close your eyes and relish in all 5 senses being engaged as if you were physically present. It gives us heated romance along with some of the darker aspects that aren’t so cozy and fuzzy feeling in the best ways possible. We also get a mystery that not only draws the reader in but edges us throughout the entire book in a way that keeps you on all 10 toes desperately searching for any possible clues to try to unravel it. But please just know all of those efforts will be for naught, as this author will grip you by the throat with her storyline until she’s ready permit you to breathe it in.
This story also gives us consistently intricate and vivid world building as you traverse through various lands, an extremely original plot line and unique magic system & lore, polished off with thriller aspects that will leave you hanging in suspense and holding your breath.
I would be remiss to fail to mention this novel is filled with quotes that will be burned into your brain and live rent-free for years to come. Said quotes ranging from Insta responses of ‘yes daddy’, ‘how unbelievably romántico’, ‘how fucking poetic’ to you stomping your little feeties and clapping your hands while you absolutely gag.
This novel is Rife with themes of autonomy, self advocacy, consent in all things, self discovery, sexual exploration (leave all notions of shame at the door baby girl), and radical self acceptance.
You’ll come for the dark romantasy and fire daddy, but be enraptured by the thrill and mystery. Finding Her is the genre bending thrill you didn’t even know you needed. Five stars, no notes.

Forbidden. Dangerous. Addictive. And yes—spice included. 😌
If I have a kryptonite, it’s a shadow daddy. 🖤 Always has been, always will be. And when the FMC just so happens to be a bookish queen who shares the exact same obsession? Yeah, I was instantly feral. One of my favorite touches was how the author leaned into this and made it a running joke throughout the story—I ate up every second.
This book was fast, sharp, and utterly unrelenting—there wasn’t a single lull. From the layered worldbuilding to the character arcs to the slow, dangerous unraveling of the mystery, everything was so tightly crafted it felt like a spell being woven right in front of me. And that reveal? Jaw. Dropped.
The magic system is inventive, the romance is steeped in yearning, and the spice? Perfectly timed, perfectly placed. Just enough to smolder before catching fire.
What I loved most was how it hit every one of my weaknesses:
✨ Shadow daddy with secrets
✨ Hidden identities
✨ Romeo-and-Juliet-level forbidden love
✨ Equal parts danger, depth, and tension
It’s like the author didn’t just write a story, she enchanted it—pulling me under until I was all in, aching for more. Book 2? I need it yesterday.

Let me start this off with two words only: THE. DECEPTION. 😮💨
In this one, we follow Queen Tove through a journey that is equal parts grief, self-worth, betrayal, and reclamation. And listen, our girl does not start out strong. She gets knocked down, dragged, tested, and broken more times than I could count… but watching her rise from the ashes? Absolutely kept me glued to the pages. 👏
Jacci Prior & Christian Leatherman we phenomenal in this audiobook. I could not imagine queen Tove, being portrayed by anyone else, nor Jerrick! Mythical Gems Media delivered production that was clean, crisp and completely cinematic with atmospheric music playing during the most intense aspects of the book, bringing the listener even further into this world.
And then there’s Jerrick. Sinfully delicious, tension-thick, dark, brooding, and forbidden MMC. The push and pull between them had me clutching my Kindle like it owed me money.
Which brings us to the aforementioned betrayal. I did not see that twist coming. The author masterfully crafted that reveal and left my jaw on the floor.
For my fantasy bébés— yes, this is technically a frozen retelling, but it’s loose. Think: borrowing a character and spinning an entirely different, darker world around her. And that world? Rich, broody, laced with spice that doesn’t hold back.
Final verdict: if you love dark fantasy with spice that burns, emotionally harrowing journeys, betrayal sharp enough to cut, and tension so suffocating it makes it hard to breathe— this one is for you. Highly, highly recommend. 💙

OK so boom 👏 this one didn’t just deliver spice— it was swinging with spicy spice. And not only do we get my favorite flavor of retelling (Beauty and the Beast, aka the book that started my monster-lover era and cemented my lifelong enemies-to-lovers obsession), but this author looked at that blueprint and said: “Nah… let’s make the Beauty the Beast.” 😍 And bébés… it worked so well!
Our FMC? Strong, intelligent, independent; she’s got bite, she’s got brains, and she doesn’t bend for anyone. But don’t get it twisted, she still has a phenomenal arc, and watching her transform made me feral in the best way.
And the yearning… LORD. The kind of yearning that makes you kick your feet like you’re sixteen again. When the spice finally hits? It doesn’t just smolder— it slaps, it claws, it love-taps you across the forehead and you say thank you. 😌🔥
Now L… girl, who hurt you? Because the betrayal and the twist in this book topped the last one. My jaw was on the damn floor. Like, DN Hoxa-level GAGGED. I live for an author who can devastate me and have me begging for more, and you nailed it.
So, for my fellow Beauty & the Beast addicts: if you love your heroines fiery and defiant, your MMCs sweet-as-sin but with a mouth filthier than the bottom of your garbage can, and your betrayals so sharp they could slice your soul… highly, highly recommend you dive into this one immediately. 🥀
