OK, so I read this before reading the rest of the series I found a little repetitive and found myself kind of lost a little bit a lot of time. HOWEVER, about a third way in I was able to find my footing and really enjoyed this one. And anyone who did not read this before reading the rest of the series, this is probably an easier read. With that being said it made so many different things hit that much harder throughout the series as events unfold so I feel like I totally enhance my experience by starting with this book. I absolutely loved the series.

So good I was hanging on almost every word. There are some parts that seem like they’re drug out at points, but pushing through it will be worth it. I absolutely adored Yrene’s character, she was definitely a favorite of mine. And then of course, the delicious unfolding of various couplings. The changeup of POV can be a little confusing at times, but it definitely feels like you’re reading more than just one book at a time so with ADHD definitely kept me engaged.

OMG. This was such a quick read, my only relatively negative comment on this is I wish there was MORE. in this one you get trials, you get enemies, you get mystery, you get the spice. The tension is also so good. The world building was well done. And the storyline is so engaging. I would be lying if I said, I wasn’t a little worried about the second one following a different character but because of how well this one is, I’m definitely willing to give it a read and look forward to the release in April.
