It’s a great deal of fun. Has a lot of the beats and technique of classic noir, but there’s plenty of updates to make it modern and fun. I anticipated the twist, but it was worthwhile and well handled.

This is one of my all-time favorites. It is a tremendous work in breadth and scope. Also, if you didn’t hate Napoleon before, you will by the end.
