Orlando by Virginia Woolf

Did not finish book. Stopped at 80%.
Such an interesting premise, but boring execution. It was boring.

I held on until Orlando's gender change, thinking it'd get better. It kind of did. It had some interesting introspection on gender and sexuality.
There was a bit where Orlando realised that despite the change, she retained her love of women, and that it got stronger cause of relatability. That was sorta interesting.

The monologue on how clothing influences gender relations and expression was also amazing! How with different clothes you're treated differently and carry yourself differently. Her going back and forth on whether she's a man or woman really by studying her different traits and 'gendering' them was a fun section.

But too bad they all come after the 50% mark and, after the 19th century starts I just got bored. It took 300 years to feel her age on paper. And it felt like 300 years. She's also not a fun character to follow, shes boring. Her development is visible but that's all she has, flaws she grows over only to develop different flaws. No semblance of personality.
