I had troubles to get into to the story, but Zadie Smith‘s brilliance shines through the richness of her language, the depth of her characters and the wide-ranging themes and topics she explores and weaves together. I don’t think I will remember the details of her characters or the story, but the themes and thoughts presented in this novel I will take with me for a long time.

Milan Kundera writes beautifully for sure, but it's not often that a book bores me as much as this did.
The characters were uninteresting and shitty. I did not care for them or their story.
The only aspect of the book that I liked was the historical context in Prague, but it certainly wasn't enough to win me over...
