Unwind by Neal Shusterman

Damn this is good. The premise of the book hooked me just from reading the back cover. If you take present conflicts in America to the logical extreme then you end up with the world of Unwind where every child is born and then retroactively aborted once the body is mature enough for harvesting.
Unwind follows three kids, all three of whom have been marked for Unwinding for different reasons. I think Lev is the one who broke my heart - he was born solely to be an Unwind. Like how horrible do parents have to be to rise a child to be sacrificed? This was such an interesting and compelling read full of interesting and unique characters. I would have liked maybe a bit more history but can't really fault it in any case.

This was an easy and enjoyable read - I got through it much quicker than I thought I would. Probably not my favourite Austen, but a nice enough way to will away a few hours.
