This was such a good book! I loved a the characters, and I really enjoyed the writing style. I'm going to start keeping an eye out for Darcie Little Badger's other books. :)

This was a good read. The book takes a long time to get going, but once it's built up, everything is very fast-paced. The characters were nothing to write home about- most of them are plain and bland, which is likely intentional, but also doesn't particularly affect the book. The worldbuilding was minimal, but well done. This is definitely a good read if you're looking for something with a lot of action.

As far as horror goes, this book didn't truly deliver in my opinion. It could simply be my personal tastes, but it just wasn't... 'spicy' enough, if that makes sense? It felt like the scare factor was lacking, probably because it was more of a slow buildup.
Other than that, this was a good read. Katsu did an amazing job building suspense, and I really enjoyed her writing style. I have no other criticism, it's just that this book wasn't my exact cup of tea.

This was a fun read. There was nothing particularly amazing about the plot or the characters, and I suspect that this book is not canon in any sense, but it's still an interesting look into the characters of the X-Files.

I LOVED this book. I can't explain it, but I feel like it has changed my life. It's a combination of everything I love: dinosaurs and earth science, coupled with horror and suspense. I enjoy the representation throughout, and I really liked the author's notes at the end of each story.

For an assigned summer reading book, Dry was not bad. It definitely deserves the 3.5 I gave it, although I'm not sure that it deserves more. It really isn't a bad book, but something about the writing style and the characters rubbed me the wrong way. Other than that, though, you would probably enjoy it if you like action movies or apocalypse books.
