I didn’t like it :( and I’m not a fan of verse. ALSO I’m reading the reviews and I agree it’s upsetting to act like she needs to escape to ny and everyone’s forced into prostitution :( that’s not excellent representation I’m sorry
I don’t remember much of the first half but the best ones in here are probably brandy Colbert, Cassandra Clare (wasn’t expecting a lot but actually the best story in the book! Tell me why he has to be her uncle’s stepson!?!?
It was just like Why We Broke Up by daniel handler and I didn’t like that book so it was hard for me to get the hang of it. But it’s much shorter and smarter and definitely a david levithan book because I vibed so hard
I didn’t realize til much later but the characters were completely genderless. I thought the partner was a woman and he was a man because they make a joke about them being pregnant but I think it definitely could have gone either way. This is a fantastic attribute. I almost wish I read it differently but I was stuck in the way I pictured it.
I didn’t vibe with some aspects of it like it did remind me a little of poetry and didn’t have enough story sometimes. But there are some fantastic quotes that reminded me so much of my last relationship that was seriously wild.
Good book! Not gonna read it again or anything. But he’s my favorite author though so we stan.
