This is an incredible book. All of the characters feel so well developed and the story is incredibly interesting. This novel is written beautifully and expanded my vocabulary in interesting ways.

Very well balanced book. An overall nice read. It won't blow your mind, but it was enjoyable and had many good parts.

Beautifully and elegantly written account of horrible and sad experiences that felt immensely important to be told.

It's hard to follow with all of the characters, but once they are parsed out, the story is interesting and the writing is great. It is however plagued with the styles of a classic novel that do make it hard to get through.

I recognize that this is a classic novel and it is very good in that regard, but compared to modern novels it is a struggle to get through. There is are pointless discussions abound and some of the best moments are told secondhand. I'm glad to have gotten through it for historical reasons and the cultural touchstone that it is.

Really interesting book. I did not realize the talent of Eric Idle and how wide he fame goes. This is well written and is packed full of fun info about Monty Python and the world of comedy from Eric Idle A's perspective. The name dropping is shocking and some parts seem to drag out, but the overall book is a good read and pretty funny.

Truly an incredible book. Very thought provoking. I loved the focus on our current moment and the way it makes you consider humanity and where we are as a collective group. I feel like this focus made the overall narrative suffer only slightly.

This has some truly laugh out loud parts and plenty of groans. I enjoyed the world and the story even if it feels a little confusing and lost in the middle.

This is a great book. It pulls at your heartstrings with some really moving scenes. It will make you groan and laugh with some dumb cheesiness. I felt that it tried to leave some mystery, but it felt more like oversight.
Lastly, book felt longer than it needed to be. It never really felt boring and I would be hard pressed to find any scenes worthy to be cut. The story really wanted to build the relationships and the romance and it only fell slightly short of knocking out of the park.
I absolutely recommend this book. Just be ready to really sit with these characters.
