This is probably my favorite of the books. I love how Maas makes sure to show all the broken and messy pieces of people without villainizing them. It’s perfectly paced. Gorgeously gruesome. Sexy as hell.

Maas is definitely at the top of my authors list. I started this after finishing what’s currently released of acotar (a court of silver flames). I love the setting being futuristic in terms of fae but relatively current for us readers. She has a way of getting you attached to the characters early on. I had all of the feels. Happiness, laughing, anger, crying. The FMC is I think one of my fave book characters now. The romance edges you so good. There is so much info but the way it’s delivered keeps you from being overwhelmed. I kept getting eager to read what was coming, skipping/skimming and having to go back. For my ND self that’s a pretty sure fire way to know how much I like a book.

So full transparency… I discovered this isn’t really my cup of tea. Plot, twists, character and relationship developments were all good. I just discovered some dark content in the triggers that I didn’t know I wouldn’t care for and won’t be reading from now on. Now. That said. It’s a very captivating story in and of itself. If you are one that enjoys the content listed in the TWs then I think you’ll enjoy this.
