This is truly the modern day Horrible Histories. Greg Jenner will never let me down when it comes to making history books enjoyable. From the accuracy alarm to all the illustrations it was so much fun!

It’s clear to see this book is a classic, there is no doubt about it. The only reason I didn’t give it a full five stars is purely because I struggle to read these kind of world building books, I found the audiobook a bit easier to understand but still struggled. Definitely glad I read it though!

oh my days i LOVED this book. it was exactly what i would imagine if you put scooby doo and scream together. i would happily read an entire series and follow the gang as they solve more cases. truly incredible that this is a DEBUT novel, the author should be super proud of his work!

not my favourite of the three books but it was still really good. i didn’t fully enjoy it until the last 1/3 of the book though. i do think that the ending is quite good as it can be carried on with Ada, possibly a Housemaids Daughter book?
