While I am a sucker for a dystopian series (hunger games, divergent, etc) I think I was able to enjoy this book and get into it since I watched the Netflix movie more than if I had just read it outright.
It was hard to wrap my mind around everyone changing themselves to become perfect at a certain age. The “government” has everyone convinced that the way people think, their natural beauty and the things that make them unique (diversity) are wrong and need to be connected. That those very attributes are what led to the downfall of society almost pushing humankind to the edge of extinction.
While writing this review, I’m thinking to myself are we getting to that point as society where everyone is trying to be like everyone else or have the same things?
