**I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much, HarperTeen! All opinions are my own.**
I don't really like leaving ARCs unfinished. After all, I requested it because of something I saw in them that caught my atenttion and made me want to read them. And I didn't stop due to the fact that it was an ARC, if it were a book for myself I would have stopped at the 100 page mark or even earlier.
In this case, the thing that caught my atenttion was the fact that the characters meet their favorite author, Fatima Ro, get really close, really intimate, to then get betrayed and get a novel get written about them and their deepest secrets.
The concept sounded amazing at first, and I thought this was going to be like a thriller / mystery novel, discovering their secrets throughout the story. And oh, I couldn't have been further off.
Instead, we get a bunch of annoying teenage girls constantly screaming "OMG!!1!1!!!!" and believing they are all friends, which I wouldn't see why they think that, but okay.
The format itself was actually one of the best parts in this book. The story is told through interviews mostly, but also journal entries and the book that the author wrote betraying them. For me, I don't think the format worked out that well. No, I don't think it's really the format, since there are other books such as Illuminae or Themis Files with the same format, and the difference is that I liked those and not this one.
I found Fatima's novel really boring since the very beginning. Honestly, at first I just read it, but as the story progressed you could find me skimming through it, to finally SKIP the whole portion because I found it that boring and not apportive to the story.
Lydia's writing quality was at least, decent. It's not like a 5 year old wrote this book, which is always a plus. I don't think it's the best writing style ever, again, I found myself skimming through some parts because of her writing style. This novel was just a mess of points of view that could be condensed to just four, which is all that we needed. We don't need the points of view of the character that walked past the house.
Overall, I thought this story was pretty much a mess. I was really invested in it until a quarter in, where everything just started going downhill for me and it just kept going and going and there was no uphill at all. I think this will be one of those books that gets much hype but will be forgotten in a matter of time.

I really liked this predictable contemporary. It’s not usual to see one of these, but i liked it. I thought the ending was a bit too soon, I would have loved to see many more challenges for Francis. Plus, we just saw her plan for the fashion project, but we didn’t even get to actually see the ceremony. I’m a bit disappointed with that, but overall it was a pretty good book.
Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and as honest as they can be.

I LOVED THIS BOOK.
I just gave it 4 stars because I didn’t enjoy it due to being really boring and slow at some points, but otherwise, this book is so magical and amazingly great. I swear I didn’t expect it. I can’t wait to read the sequel to this book!

I swear for the love of God this is the first time I A C T U A L L Y cry over a book for longer than one minute. I swear this book has raised a lot of questions about the storyline that I would love to have answered by now, but can't because you know... the third book comes out in December... yay.
