This book left me very unsatisfied. I feel I was cheated out of a properly weighted ending, the main character simply fell in a decision that the book has been leading up to. It seemed the author took a short cut afraid to tackle the tough questions. Another assumed short cut would be the fact that the "state" the main character was in left her unable to fully comprehend the severity of the traumatic situation she found her self in, short cutting the way her true emotions/thoughts/reactions would have impacted the story. Another consequence of this is that she was strangely distant from the events occurring though she was at the centre of it all. In the end I was glad it was a short book because I was hanging out for that last page.
