American Like Me: Reflections on Life Between Cultures by America Ferrera
4.0
I read this book for school but I genuinely enjoyed it and was glad that I had to. I loved hearing stories from so many different influential figures. It was interesting to see how many people had different experiences with being American/living in the U.S. I definitely learned more history about some backgrounds that I had never known before.

I fully understand the hype this book has. I genuinely
have no words except that this book perfectly captures
what it means to be human.

I literally just finished this book and I don’t have much to say except this book just broke me.
It took me way longer to get into this book than I did Cemetery Boys which I thought was a bad sign, but I soon got the same pull that I had with that book, and could not bring myself to stop reading.
This book definitely hit close to home but I think being able to relate to the story is what ,add ,e enjoy it so well.
The book definitely is slow in getting the plot going, and then it quickens at the end but it somehow worked for me.
Overall, I loved reading this book and will definitely want to reread it in the future.
