I expected a lot after having read "One of us is lying", but to be honest I was quite disappointed.
In my opinion the plot was rather boring and I felt like there were so many different little stories which didnt contribute to the actual plot. The first suspense-packed part was basically the end.
The characters were a lot more shallow and definitely less mature and relatable and the atmosphere was very different from the first book. I didnt quite feel the supposed thriller-vibe, for the most part it felt like a romcom.

Great book! I'm usually not that into science fiction, but I loved it. It's really fun and there are a lot of interesting ideas. I also enjoyed the social criticism in the book. So, I think it also helps you to reflect about your habits and our modern world in general. 5/5

At the beginning I was kinda disappointed because I expected so much more after having read the first book, but it definitely got a lot better throughout the story. I still like the first one a lot better, it was so much more critical of society and gave a lot of new perspectives beside the story. This one is mainly just a nice story without any actual food for thought.

Tbh I expected a lot more. The book gave an insight into what learning German is like and what are the obstacles you might encounter. Especially for me as German native speaker it was interesting but also entertaining.
What really annoyed me though is the fact that none of the topics was really thoroughly discussed. Dana always went on to the next topic quite quickly and just tried to fit in as many different parts of learning the German language as possible into the book. So, in the end I was kinda disappointed because I would have liked to learn more about every topic.
I think the book is fun to read and nice to get an overview but not helpful for really taking a closer look at the German language and informing yourself about it.
