Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No

Awful. This is a case of being dickmatized. There’s no way anyone can like this dude. His thrust game must be good…that’s all it is.

Andre, the main guy, dumped Trixie by writing his goodbye on a post it note. 🙄🙄

Now they’re rekindling things and the man has NOT learned a thing about communicating properly and is honestly not emotionally available.
We would have thought that he would have grown and learned to not repeat his mistakes…but no…

He has a short temper and says hurtful things which he expects her to forgive him….
He has a short temper drunk and sober. “The veins in his neck bulged as the words and spittle flew out of his mouth.” WHY THE HELL WOULD ANYONE WANT TO BE WITH SOMEONE LIKE THIS.

Does he really apologize? No. His form of apology is to kiss and make up.
Does he learn from his mistakes? No. He’ll just ice her out when things don’t go his way.

He is an adult who acts like a spoiled child.

She wants to open her own business, but the space that is available and affordable for her is a place that is “causing” his business to fail. So what does he do? He says, “If you love me, you would find a different way to open your store.”
You know what’s causing your business to fail? YOUR MISPLACED PRIDE. He just whines and groans about problems, but does he do anything to fix it? No. He just hides the problem and lies about it to his sister.

He’s honestly selfish, doesn’t even do the bare minimum, can’t communicate, and only his needs and wants are important…

Why are we writing MC like this? Why are we promoting an unhealthy relationship?

As an Asian woman, the expectations from the Asian culture of doing everything and sacrificing for the relationship is already real.
I hate this book and I’m honestly unhappy that an Asian author is glorifying this type of relationship and doesn’t see the problem with it. I’m honestly disappointed. It’s refreshing to see an Asian woman as the MC in books, but this was awful.

Terrible book. Wouldn’t recommend it. I don’t even recommend borrowing it from the library.
