DID NOT FINISH: 56%

I hate this book. I can’t force myself to finish it. The MC, Raina, is feeling overwhelmed with her grandma pushing men at her for her to go out on dates with to find a husband.

So one day, she has enough and yells at her grandma to stop. They exchanged words and that leads the grandma to thinking that the MC is a lesbian. The grandma asked her…AND RAINA STAYS MUTE!!! She allows the grandma to continue to believe that she is a lesbian EVEN THOUGH SHE IS NOT!!!! And just to get out of an uncomfortable situation.

The grandma is trying to be understanding. She’s looking up how to handle the situation…the grandma is honestly doing her best.

I am DISGUSTED with Raina.
The only time that I read where she was confronted…
Her friend calls her out and she tells her friend to shut up.
The friend tells Raina that what she is doing is pathetic.

Raina turns around and says, “I wonder if Julien would still marry you if he knew what a slut you used to be.”

IS THIS AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE…AT ALL?!!!! THIS IS NOT OKAY IN GENERAL.

It gets worse. Raina doesn’t own up to the truth. She in facts just goes off on her friend and insinuates that her friend doesn’t know her anymore and she says,” after all, you didn’t know I was gay.”

I’m seeing red at this point. I can’t finish this book. I won’t sit here wasting my time on such a book.
