I really did not like Nothing But Blackened Teeth, but a few good reviews on TikTok and a short wait on Libby convinced me to give this one a try. Someone should still take Khaw’s thesaurus away, but The Salt Grows Heavy was beautiful and romantic and so, so gross, and I think I loved it.
