'How can I make this about me, me and me?' is kind of how the book is written. Even though she touches a few times on current societal issues (like refugees, climate change etc), (which she shouldn't have had to per se, since it is not the theme of her book after all), it felt like she only did to show the reader that she cares. But doesn't reflect on the issues at all and after mentioning them very quickly continues her reflections about her shit love life and her personal issues. So leave those marks out or say something important about them. If you want to make it about you, make it really about you and leave the big issues out. Besides that, I don't really know who she is, even though it is only about her spending a 'lost' year in Berlin and having a shit love life.
