Dark, creepy, twisty. There were at least 3 places the book could have ended, but it kept on coming instead! Enjoyed it, found it unnerving and unsettling. Some nicely subtle turns of phrase used throughout.

Meant a s a compliment, quite Stephen King esq. Sense of place and feisty characters, and spectacular myth come to life.

Bloody brilliant still. Love the characters, desperate to know more about their world and the plots unfolding around them. Love the glimpses into their pasts.

Hasn't added much but flavour text to the series so far. More of a stopgap title, but I do like Lift's character.

Kids book. Starts really strong, then as it gets more fantastical and convoluted it's a bit of stretch for me to follow tbh. Great chatacters, very overdramatic.

Magical, epic, politcal, proper characters, dark plotlines, and hints of whimsy. Had to make sure i had book 2 before finishing.

Not very twisty, but solidly written and atmospheric. Art world turns home sleuth, with eccentricity and brutality.

What an account! Such a brutal, ruthless chapter in american history, soaked in misogyny and racism.
