Etched in Frost by L.R. Friedman

I believe this was my first Jack Frost retelling and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not a big retelling reader, I usually stick to what I know because I'm terrible at stepping out of my comfort zone but I couldn't help but read this one.

It was a slow-burn, the spice was good and it was sweet. The world building was done well, like I said I usually don't read books like this but it was done in a way that I understood what was going on.

I enjoyed this one so much.

To start, I believe this is Ella Wren's debut novel and I just wanna thank her and Valentine PR for allowing me to read it.

That being said, this book was well-written. I liked her style of writing and I can't wait to read more from her. The plot is what made me want to read this book.

Noah and Sabrina were well-written, although they lacked depth. I wish I felt more connected to them individually as well as together. The story felt a bit surface level and it definitely could've gone more in depth but overall, I enjoyed reading it.

This was a really quick read, the pace was super fast (as you'd expect from a novella) and I absolutely ate up this man obsessed. Definitely a good Valentines palette cleanser.

Their love was so gentle and I loved it so freaking much.

My favorite book in this series so far has been Face Off but Hudson might have just knocked Mav right off that pedestal. I'm freaking obsessed.

This was an absolutely seamless strangers to friends to lovers. It's usually so hard for me to like this type of book because it's never done in a way that I can get behind but Chelsea did that and I am not mad about it at all. Only one other book has done it in a way that I absolutely loved. (shout out: Morbidly Yours by Ivy Fairbanks)

Hudson Hayes is not even a book boyfriend. This man is my book husband. A man who went to therapy??? My absolute kryptonite. A dog dad??? OH ABSOLUTELY. This man loves gently, wholeheartedly and so freaking hard. I want him to love me and I just wanna snuggle him.

I was absolutely shocked by how much I loved this book. I'm usually not a fan of celebrity books but this one had me hooked from the start. Add in the surprise pregnancy and the age gap??? I'm an absolute sucker. YES. YES. YES.

I've said it before and I'll say it every single time I read a book by her... Jennifer Millikin is truly THAT girl. The way she writes her character and the tension between them is truly one of my favorite things ever.

As someone who has never seen The Princess Bride (but has heard of it) I absolutely adored it, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel going into a new series but I absolutely loved it. I was not disappointed at all.

Noah Herbert might is THE single dad. A sweet tattooed, baby-wearing firefighter. SIGN ME UP.

Noah feels lost after leaving his life in California to come home and raise his daughter. When his neighbor Victoria knocks on his door and offers to help him with his daughter so he can sleep, everything kind of just falls into place for them.

Talk about the cutest family ever, the three of them made my heart sing. Noah is the epitome of 'bring him home to your parents HOT.' Vic was the perfect fit for Noah's soft-heart. She was badass. I love them so much.

When I tell you this is no doubt going to be one of my favorite books of the year, I am so serious. Reading this... I have never felt more represented, seen, heard, loved and taken care of.

Dalton is everything to me, I fear no man will ever compare (exception: my husband) and Ariella was so freaking badass, I fear I fell in love with her.

As a Latina woman, thank you Marie M. for creating such a safe space.

Don't get me wrong, this book was very cute. I loved the characters. But 500 pages? I felt like it dragged out a lot and it also felt very redundant, the characters were very likable especially the kids and Blake was such an incredible dad.

The character development and plot fell a bit flat.

Savannah made me want to pull my hair out in the first half. She was so mean to Blake and I get that her childhood trauma was a big driving force for her actions but he was stepping up and invested from the very beginning, yet she still made him feel like he was doing something wrong all the time. It was pretty frustrating especially considering the sudden way she was all in on the relationship too.
