Reread from 2022. It's still a devastating novel. With love, laughter, sadness, and heartbreak. The plot twists are written with exceptional skill. My favourite novel in the series.

I enjoyed book one more than book two. The plot twists were still pretty good, but this novel felt a bit streched out. There were a few instances of things happening for no reason, just to add unnecessary plot. Some of the "secrets" weren't that well hidden. Also, the ending felt a bit rushed, considering how much the rest of the novel was streched out.

This story sweeps you away with amazing twists and narrow escapes. It leaves you wanting for more and wishing it was longer. The writing style is easy to read and pleasing in itself. The characters are interesting, secretive, and each of their own minds.

It's definitely a bit more spicy than the other Bridgerton novels, but it's still quite tame. The story was enjoyable, even though it was a little sad. The tie-in with books 4 and 5 were well placed and expertly included.

This novel is the epitome of old gothic horror. Not ghosts, werewolves, or vampires, but human decision and cruelty. It was extremely well written, and Mary Shelley was a genius born before a time in which she would have thrived.
