Prachtig vertaald, wat een geweldige vertelling.

I didn’t like it at all at first. But as I kept reading it started to become more and more interesting. It gives some very interesting insights into the details of the roman empire (who knew they had VAT back then!) It also paints an excellent picture of what an awful barbaric empire it was.

Medea is echt fantastisch. Bakchanten vond ik iets minder, ook qua vertaling denk ik (ik ben me er van bewust dat ik dat natuurlijk slecht kan beoordelen als leek). De noten en het naschrift heb ik weer wel met veel plezier gelezen.

Wat een boek. Prachtig geschreven verhaal, of eigenlijk verhalen, over de vreselijke, en ook complexe invloed van racisme op allemaal hele verschillende personen.

Listened to the audiobook, read by the author, which gave the book a more friendly tone. Which was nice, because at parts it’s rather grim.
