The Selected Works of Edgar Allan Poe by Edgar Allan Poe

Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.
I think I'm really not well suited to Poe's writing style. The language is a great barrier for me and I subsequently cannot hold a picture in my head of what is happening. Of the six short stories I trudged through, before calling it a day, "The Black Cat' was genuinely outstanding. Not only was it more accessible, but it was right up my alley. It was very reminiscent of 'Pet Semetary' by Stephen King and I 'licked the plate clean' - so to speak. I already DNF'd this once but desperately wanted to try and connect with his stories because of his prolific reputation. However two attempts could not get me through and I'll just have to watch modern adaptations to acquire the narrative in a more appropriate way.
