Act of God: A Novel by Jill Ciment
Did not finish book. Stopped at 70%.

Mislabeled at my library as being "horror" and "humor", of which this book is neither. It's a dry, slow book about a group of older women and their personal problems. I couldn't get invested. There's a much bigger calamity in their world that serves only to inconvenience them.

Orlando by Virginia Woolf
Did not finish book. Stopped at 31%.

Style of storytelling did not compel me. Narrator feels very distant from the protagonist.

Well-written with a likable protagonist. Unfortunately, not much conflict. Left watching someone coast through life. Strangely, the book doesn't focus much on the most important relationship, despite the circumstances.

Pretentious writing style and run-on sentences make this a difficult read for those with attention deficits, or those who do not enjoy re-reading books.
