This was a cute short story, 3rd person POV. I am not a fan of 3rd person POV, because I often find the writing falls more into telling than showing. This book did a bit of both and so I found it hard to get sucked into the story at times. That 'telling' element makes it hard to stay immersed.

Instalove style books are also not my favourite trope and I'm not sure this story needed it. They spend months together, so the relationship could have progressed more naturally. As an age-gap romance, it felt like the naive younger boy (who has a traumatic past including DV) was just latching onto the first person who showed him kindness.

That said, the characters were great and it would have been cool to see this story be longer, to get to know them both better. I also loved the twist on fake marriage in this book. I've read a lot of them, so it was nice to see a refreshing take on the trope!

I have received an ARC copy for my honest review.

OK, this one was cute. I rarely stray from hockey romances, but I am glad I did in this case. This book is single POV (except for the epilogue) and it's really cute to see everything from Garrett's perspective. Definitely hoping that books 2 and 3 move into the dual POV though. I want Wyatt's thoughts on Garrett!!

The spice starts early, and continues throughout the book. It does feel a little more focused on the spice, than the story, but as it is a trilogy, I hope we get to see more character development and storyline!

This book was low-angst (just high in bumbling nervousness), but after reading the blurb for book 2, we might be in for some angst soon. Hopefully not too much miscommunication, but we shall see.

Look forward to book 2!

I am providing my honest opinion after reading an ARC.

I am so glad I got to read the next instalment in this series. I am so wrapped up in their adventure, and love being immersed in WWII. The boys finally see the war, after spending the first book learning to be secret agents, and being able to see them navigate the challenges thrown their way had me on the edge of my seat.

There were some grammatical and continuity errors, but I am genuinely hooked and cannot wait for book 3.

Okay this one was a fun read. A different sort of paranormal, but I am a sucker for one that has Grim Reapers as the main characters. This story is a combination between a rom-com and a mystery, and you follow the MMCs as they try to unpack what is weird about the Reaper Nexus.

There is no spice in this one, but I don't think it needed it. One of the MMCs is ace, and the other has trauma that impacts their desire for intimacy.

There were some spelling/grammatical errors found in the book, which makes me wonder whether this book was self-published. I also struggled at points with the flipping of pronouns; I am unsure if the characters used he/they pronouns as it wasn't made clear, but it did get a little confusing at points. There was also a sentence that said sexuality is assigned to the body, not the soul, a little confusing because the soul of Gareth kept their asexuality after death.

So there were some issues with this story, but they didn't stop me from enjoying a different book than I normally read! 3.5, rounded up

I received an ARC copy for my honest review. 2.5 stars

Gosh this had potential. I love me some unhinged men corrupting an innocent female, and I adore dark and depraved romances (bordering on erotic horror) . But something about this one just didn't work for me. I think I have just read this concept before, just done better.

I felt there were some timing inconsistencies (Ivy said she was locked in the basement for a month, then later in the book says she was locked in the basement for a week for the same scenario). I also felt that her broken wrist was forgotten about, especially as we neared the books climax.

I also really struggled to connect with the characters. They kept talking about their feelings for each other, but I didn't FEEL that connection. This book leaned more into telling, than showing.
