FYI this is a closed door romance (which I didn't realise until 60% of the way through).

This book was okay. Very angst driven, and full of the miscommunication trope. It's also only told from one POV, which sucked, because I would have loved to see Michael's POV as well.

It gets an average rating from me: I was honestly more invested in learning about Eugenia and wished she had more stories to tell.

Cute premise, not so great execution. There were inaccuracies in the writing (ie: car is described as a Range Rover, then a page later is called a Land Rover, and a scene where they talk about approaching the front door of a house, then switches to saying they're opening the car door).

The romance felt rushed and the relationships between the characters and their relatives flipped and flopped. Also, it felt like there was going to be another pair of characters being set up for book 2, and I just read the blurb for the second book and they're not going to be a couple.

Anyway, glad I got this book in stuff your kindle, because I would have been disappointed if I spent money on it.

Like others, I really struggled with the writing of this book. The dialogue sometimes felt disingenuous and some descriptions felt really choppy and stilted; like I was being told and not shown.

Closed door romance, which isn't my preferred style and it irks me when that isn't made clear.

The editing wasn't great; a number of spelling issues, and at one point the MMC called the FMC by her sisters name which made me feel as though that scene was recycled from a previous book, or it didn't make the cut to the author used it in this book instead.

I'm not a fan of the pregnancy trope, in any format, and although I understand it in the context of their relationship, the fact the FMC was willing to be so reckless to get pregnant just irked me further.

Won't be reading any of the other books in this series.
