The Queen's Gambit by Walter Tevis
4.0
This book was actually quite thrilling. I enjoyed the excitement and tension described during each chess tournament. However, I haven't any idea how chess works and what all the moves are that were mentioned (Sicilian, Queen's Gambit etc.) but that didn't make reading this worse or anything. At times the writing did become a bit tedious, but it was still fine and definitely does not stop me from recommending this novel. Most of the time the main character was a bit irritating (in her actions and observations) but I believe it was just part of her temperament and personality rather than her just being an annoying person. (that probably made 0 sense)
Overall this was quite an easy read for me so I give The Queen's Gambit four ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars!

OMG.
I don't know what to say, I'm still shocked. This book was so heart-wrenching, yet beautiful. I do understand why it's said to be overhyped. Definitely a sad book, definitely recommend.
