Very first science fiction that I can say I truly enjoyed. I’m not even a science fiction fan but this story of time travel and consequence of the butter fly effect is a huge stand out for this. This is an easy 5 stars as I binged the audiobook in a day and a half
Everything happens at the end of the book... fluff filled with unnecessary side stories and rarely shit was actually said about the cannabis Cafe and the murder. I was literally waiting for the plot to thicken and the climax was lackluster. The only moment is that I didn't see the sister being the murderer but her reason is so fucking stupid in my opinion. Cafe license and murder is solved second to last chapter on the last 2 pages. Next chapter is the aunt admitting that she's a lesbian and that had more of a character arc than the whole novel.
Can’t say I love it. Very long winded and a lot of the things I’ve already knew and suspected. I do like his openness and ultimate decision on what he knows and what he wants. I don’t think this book is meant to be a “ bombshell” of tea being spilled from the royal mouth himself , but to gain clarity. Overall, it was a good book and I wish them the best.
I will say that I loved the movie on Netflix! So I was pretty much heading into this books with the same expectations and maybe that was my mistake…. The main character, Willowdean, is a hard character to love as she’s very wishy-washy. Her own self judgment of herself and body , at times, makes her a Shit friend and daughter. Idk… I thought I was going to love it but it’s just okay.
I really enjoyed the book! The little twist and turns of the case had me on edge and how realistic things like This can and has happened in our society. I’m looking forward to the second book with Jordan Manning.
Elizabeth Zott… Will be a name you remember. This book was so….. inspiring and in my opinion, lived up to the hype in the many book clubs that I’m apart of. A story of strength, abuse, loss, love, more loss, triumph… I highly recommend this book to all. Completed via audiobook
