Deadly by Julie Chibbaro

I can't think of a more appropriate book to read during this time, than Deadly. Typhoid Mary wasn't just a legend. She was an actual person who, somehow, was a healthy carrier of the disease. All the while I read, I couldn't help but think of what a panic this world is coming to (largely due to the scare tactics thanks to the media)
Overall I rate it a 2.5, right between 'it was ok' and 'I liked it'. I did enjoy parts of the book, but for the most part my general mood while reading was, meh. To be honest, I've had this book in my room for years, with good intentions to someday read it, and with the library closed, I decided to finally give it a try. I can't see myself rereading this.

The Right Kind of Girl by Betty Neels

One word- frustrating. Sir Paul is an idiot and for all I care he can have Diana and I hope she makes him utterly miserable. Emma could do much better. There was NO communication whatsoever. The only highlights to this book was Maisie and the cat's name- Queenie, which I think is a good name for a cat. Other than that, this was the most annoying read from this author and I can only hope it gets better from here on out.

I'm not really sure how to review this book. I did enjoy reading it from Scout's perspective and I also like the relationship Atticus and his children had. The story line was deep and meaningful. I know this is a pretty vague review. Overall, even though I did like it, I think once is enough for me. However...I might look into the sequel.

While searching Kindle for free clean mysteries, I stumbled upon this book. I was intrigued right away and wasted no time in downloading it.
I loved it! The mystery was great and kept me guessing right up till the end. The characters were realistic and easy to love. I already bought the second book in the series, can't wait to start it! If you like clean mysteries, don't pass this one up!

The Furies of Mars by William Stamp

Wow. I had a faint idea of what to expect after reading the bio, but I wasn't even close. I found this book, I call it a book when it's only 20ish pages long (which made for a nice quick read right before bed) to be very deep and profound. I made several highlights of thoughts and phrases that really stood out and made me think. For example:
"Humanity is nothing if not boundlessly optimistic"
"In any case, the planet wouldn't let me leave. I lived on a tomb, and was the only one still in denial."
I interpreted the planet to be character too. Maybe even the villain? The beginning had a slow take off, but it really picked up in the middle and I found myself engrossed in it. Although the setting takes place on Mars, I wouldn't consider the main theme as science fiction, but more of a psychological thriller.
Overall it was an enjoyable read. If you enjoy short reads in which characters suffer mentally and all hope of survival looks bleak, you'll probably like this one.

Wow. This is one of the coolest books I've read this year. I mean, whoa. Hooked from the first page and the thought of putting it down for a single moment was painful. Where to even begin? The main character, Matt was such a believable and well crafted character. I loved his sense of humor, wit and sarcasm. There was so much action, excitement and mystery that fully kept my attention. One of the best things? No language. Highly recommend for readers who enjoy action, thrillers, and crime stories. It won't disappoint. Can't wait to get the second book in the series!!
October Falling by C.E. Wilson

Never (that I can remember at this time) have I read about a main character who's as cruel and heartless as Terry. And I don't mean that in a bad way. She is real and her messy emotions are clearly displayed throughout the book. Overall, it was an interesting and quick read but it wasn't something that I'd want to read again. I'm assuming there's more to this story and I hope it further delves into some of the more mysterious characters, like David. I really liked that the author included the plan of salvation in the back of the book. More Christian authors should do that.

I downloaded the free eBook because the bio sounded interesting. I love history and I thought I would enjoy it. While I did like it and the fast moving plot, I thought it moved too fast at times. The mystery itself kept me on the edge of my seat, but I think it was too easy to solve. One thing that I didn't care for was how close the detective and Ann seemed to be. Overall, it was a quick read (10 chapters) and it made for a good mystery.

These books are amazing! I can not get enough of the on the edge of your seat suspense and twists! I have read this series through a number of times and they never get old. This series is, by far my favorite, from this author. I highly recommend them.
