This had me emotional for days afterwards !!! I literally cried at least 7 times and the most I’ve ever cried in a book is once and never after I’ve finished it! The will broke my heart 😭

This book is sooooooo thought provoking it’s almost too much !!! I had to stop and learn about the different philosophies as I read because I had zero knowledge of philosophy before I started ! It was excellent overall and I loved it!!

The Power Broker: Robert Moses and the Fall of New York by Robert A. Caro

I’m giving this book a perfect score more from my love of Robert Moses which I developed from reading this book than to the actual content of the book. My impression is that Robert Caro didn’t actually like Robert Moses and didn’t really understand him, he gives so much detail in his description of Battery Park 🥱 yet not enough detail about the actual man. You didn’t feel that you really knew Moses even after three volumes. It was as if his greatness was so incredible that other people couldn’t stand their feelings of mediocrity by comparison. They tried to diminish him and succeeded in the end.

I didn’t like this book at all, the premise was fantastic but the delivery and actual experience were disappointing.

The fact that it’s written by Julius Caesar himself gave me a thrill every time I read ‘I’ 😍
