I vibed with this book so hard! The angst and yearning and tension between the characters is so palpable. They’re both flawed and they are forced to really face their fears and insecurities and I’m not even gonna lie- I had a visceral reaction to these moments in the book. I found myself getting frustrated with them, then myself because I related so much. It’s also so cute and funny and balances really well.

This is a HEAVY story about death, grief, and trauma told in a beautiful way. I loved the references to Mexican American culture, food and especially music. The idea of a vhs taking someone back in time is clever and done really well. I loved how all the small choices in the book come together. This is a must-read for Latinos- especially 1st gen’s.

Such a great reimagining with banter and romance but also tension and challenge. I feel like it should have been longer, the story begs for more pages. Overall I love this book and can’t wait for more like it.

This book made me feel rage and sorrow and it was so well written. The stakes felt real.
