I felt like there was no point in the whole “i have a kid i didn’t know about” plot. i think his arc would’ve been just fine with him figuring out life outside the city and realizing he likes the small life and shit
the “hate” between them wasn’t believable, at most it was just a silly joke between them. there wasn’t a single moment in the book where i actually thought they disliked each other or were enemies
i feel like his personality was all over the place, meanwhile she didn’t really have one. he was described as mean and cold, but was never shown like that. he was “cocky” but didn’t really ever show that either. if anything he avoided talking about things like his money or looks.
there were no stakes really??? and i know stakes are minimal in contemporary romances but i need at least some kinda pushback… like the one thing holding them back in this book was west, but the west thing was literally solved in .3 seconds. idk.
the situation in the end with west in jail and rosie going off on ford was so out of the blue. his wealth and status was literally never brought up seriously until that point, like yeah there were lil jokes said about it but like this was so random and she was like pissed and appalled and it just seemed so stupid??? along with rosie being all “how could you not put me first!!!! i come before ur best friend!!!!!” like wdym girl … i just felt like the whole situation was misinterpreted and blown out of proportion for what it really was . idk
