this was my first memoir and i really enjoyed it! the way tara lived is unimaginable for me and she was so brave to choose herself over everything she was taught. also she’s super smart like ?? she taught herself everything, that’s so amazing. it’s so sad that she had to live under those conditions and that her relationship with her relatives broke because she wanted something better for herself; that’s heartbreaking.

she writes very beautifully and her story captivated me, she’s a true storyteller. gives you insight in just how important is to be rightfully educated, to be able to make your own choices, how important is the connection between people outside your family for growth. really an amazing book overall

i loved the characters but the ending was so unsatisfying for me :( i dont like the miscommunication trope, i wanted to scream “just communicate!!!!” the whole book and it was frustrating. but the writing was wonderful, it enthralled and captivated me. i did like the part that was relatable, not all relationships are linear, they can get messy and love isn’t enough sometimes; but how connell and marianne got each other, that’s something you only get once. i’m happy they got it.

i loved this book. and i loved patroclus and achilles but i didn’t cry and honestly i was waiting to read the most heartbreaking book and i did not. it’s really overhyped in that sense lol nonetheless, the writing was stellar and their love was heart wrenching; they just loved each other so much🥲

okay so i read this book in one sitting, like 5 hours sitting. i’m probably going to re-read tomorrow tho.

honestly it made me so so happy. i’ve loved simon and baz since carry on and i have to read carry on at least once a year to maintain my happiness. ws made me sad but this was everything i hoped for.

does it have flaws?? yes of course. i still have a lot of unanswered questions. the plot was messy and all over the place. the whole kinda nsfw scenes were kinda weird and unnecessary, i believe the book wouldve been better without those. the ending was very abrupt and i felt it could’ve been at least 50 pages longer. (and lets not get into rr problems, most probably the last book i read from her)

but, i love reading books because of the characters. it’s always been like that for me. so this really fulfilled me and my snowbaz heart. they deserved a happy ending, i’m so glad they got one.

i loved the writing but i found myself somewhat lost in the way the three stories intertwine. but nonetheless its a good book and its description of mental health was really relatable for me because i’m just beginning to deal with my own mental health problems; its really nice finding in words what i’m struggling to say i’m feeling. this book is very very beautifully written
