This was one of the most challenging books I've listened to in a long time. The story was catching and very dark but you also want to reveal the secrets of her past and the current events with the main character Marla.

The ending of the switched lives of Marla and Viola where very confusing to me. I had to go back a couple times just to understand the sudden change of the characters names and who is who.

The ending definitely makes me want to read the book all over again just to catch every single detail in a different light this time. It's a classic Fitzek.

Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
Did not finish book. Stopped at 16%.

I didn't like the story of the book and also thought it was to graphic for me. The characters in my opinion weren't really loveable or charismatic. I did read the triggers and where more or less fine with them but the book just felt like it was to much for me. One good thing about the audiobook where the readers. Really great voices and I loved that the male reader read all the mmc lines while the female one read the lines of the fmc. It was entertaining.

This was one of the best reads of this year! A very tense and thrilling story! The characters where all very interesting and at some point you are rooting for at least one of them and are against someone else! I really enjoyed how discriptive and intense the sense where and I am looking forward to read more of Holly Jacksons books!

(Spoiler about one character down below)

Oliver was really the most unlikeable character even though he was written extremely well. Every time he opened his mouth I just wanted him to shut up. He just made things so much more complicated and only cared about himself. In the end he was really scary. But he also made the threat that much more real!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 11%.

It was very bland and didn't really have any character or charm to it. Also the use of "gen z" speach was very annoying and took the seriousness out of it. In general just not a good writing style.
