If you enjoyed the miniseries, you'll enjoy the book. I noticed a few key details were left out of the show that made the story a bit more complex. I don't play chess, but if I did I would love the details that Tevis placed in writing the games. I could still understand the emotions and stakes in a game I don't play, which I think is a testament to his writing.
Complete page turner, finished it in one go after work. Fascinating dynamic between the mother and daughter - I definitely would read a sequel.
I listened to the audiobook. It was an amazing performance from all the voice actors, bringing the different characters to life with a sharpness and beauty that made me happy I didn't read it traditionally. So few stories are in Native voices. I hope to see more and more.
