Changeling by Delia Sherman
3.0
Book #8: Changeling, by Delia Sherman.
This is a story about a human girl raised in "New York Between" by the magical creatures that live there. She is a changeling, replaced with a fairy creature in the "world outside." She is, as most humans are, a curious and bit foolhardy girl and one innocent mistake throws her whole future into disarray. Only a daunting quest in three parts can restore the only life she knows as home.
This was a fast, fun, easy read. Full of puns and twisted meanings and the misconceptions of the human world as seen through the eyes of a pseudo-faerie, I really enjoyed this light read with elements of urban fantasy, myth, and New York travel guide with a tinge of cyberpunk thrown in for good measure.
One interesting note about the author, she is one of the founders and president of www.artistswithoutborders.org . I fully intend to check out more of her work.

Go Ask Malice: A Slayer's Diary by Robert Joseph Levy

#2: Go Ask Malice: A Slayer's Diary, Robert Joseph Levy
Written as a diary found in a bus locker under the ruins of Sunnydale, this is the story of Faith, told in her own words. I really enjoyed this, Faith has always been one of my favorite characters and this was a satisfying peek into how she became who she was. The show never explained much of her life before Sunnydale other than snippets, this fleshed it out with some reasonable surprises. A fun, frothy read after the dense Jordan book

Beautifully illustrated story about a murder mystery, set in a 1920s Paris high-class brothel.
Hellblazer: The Devil You Know by Jamie Delano

Holy 80s comic Batman! This is about beginnings and endings. The beginning of Constantine's friendships with the people in book one, the beginnings of his troubles. And some resolutions as well, of the plotlines that began with the mysterious woman in the first book, and his ghost in the machine.
It heavily embraces all that is cringe-worthy of the 1980s, the greed and flash and nasty hair. It's worth reading if for nothing else. But be warned, when they say "graphic" novel, for Hellblazer they mean it.
