So there is a boy and a tree. And the young boy climbs up the tree, swings in the branches, lays under the tree and the tree is very happy about it. But as the boy grows into a young adult, he wants money and the tree offers him to give him the apples, so he could sell them and the tree was also happy, because the boy was happy. And so it goes on...the boy wants a house, the tree gives him the branches. The boy wants a boat, the tree allows him to cut him. And the tree is always happy. But then the boy comes back one day and the tree, who is now a stump has nothing more to give, but the old man only needs a place to sit. So he sits on the tree stump and they are both happy.
I think the book is great, because it teaches us that nature is always willing to give us soething. But i think we should give nature something back too. And that is the problem with the book! I did not like the boy, because he never said thank you to the tree and he always wanted more and more and slowly he killed the tree. He should have taken more care of the tree and should have spent more time with it. But over all it is a great book for children if it is clearified from the parents that you have to say thank you and be nice to nature.

Ich habe die letzten 100 Seiten nicht mehr gelesen, da ich mit den Personen mich nicht mehr ausgekannt habe und es ziemlich langatmig und unverständlich wurde.
Vielleicht werde ich es in ein paar Monaten noch einmal aufgreifen und weiterlesen.

Die Idee dahinter war gut, aber man braucht eine gewisses Vorwissen, welches ich als 9. Klässler noch nicht besitze und man wird in die Story fast "hineingeworfen".
